Actually making such a toy is not at all difficult.

To make plush toys you have to decide on the design. Since you will be making the toy you can take the liberty to decide any design. In fact you can get whacky and innovative with it. You can draw what is on your mind then you can make a toy out of it. You will need to trace your design on a thin white paper that will act as your transfer. If you are making an animal then you will have to focus on the abdominal region, legs, arms, head and tail if applicable. You may need additional pieces for the mouth, head and nose.

Next you need to place the design on the fabric that you want to use for making plush toys and trace it with a fabric pen. Then cut around the design neatly and arrange the pieces carefully. Once that is done, you will have to attach facial details to one half of the head by either stitching or gluing. When you complete attaching the details stitch the two halves of the head together keeping space for cotton stuffing. Always do you project inside out so that the stitches are not visible when you have finished.

You can add the arms and the legs similarly and sew them. Stuff it with cotton pads and then stitch them shut. You can either insert the head in the body or go the other way round. You can also make the head and the body separately and sew them together. Your last step is to add minute details. Using color pencils you can draw the features of the face or you can use strings to make the tail or hair. If you want you can also make fancy clothes for your toy. So what are you waiting for? Plush toys are being bought for several reasons. They can also be used by both adults and children. Well, a lot of adult women can boast of several plush toys which were probably given to them by … I didn’t say men! All in all, plushies are popular whether as toys or as articles of affection.

I remember that I had several bunny plush toys as a kid. It was almost impossible to separate me from my plush toys. The only places I probably didn’t take them to were school and church. I think my mother still has them somewhere in her garage. She probably wants my children to have them when I become a parent! It’s easy to buy plush toys, hold them, hug them and even kiss them. But how easy is it to keep them clean?

For a young child, keeping stuffed toys clean isn’t much of a priority. At least, I know I couldn’t be bothered about that aspect when I was young. But I can remember that my mother was always helping me wash my plush toys. If I can also correctly remember, she used to do this quite frequently. Remember I said I was always going everywhere with my plushies. Of all the plushies I had, the ones that suffered most were my Mario plush toys. Even when I was going out to play football, I always carried them along. Well, back to keeping stuffed toys clean!

It’s very important that you maintain your favorite plush toy in a clean state. I think that sounded too formal, so I’ll rephrase: keep your plush toys clean! Maybe we can even form an acronym from that: KYPTC! I believe you’ve gotten the idea. This is an important point especially if the toys are being used by your kids. Kids are naturally curious and can’t be bothered about obscure concepts like hygiene (you know how difficult it is to get them just to brush their teeth). Hence, the onus is on you to do this. Keeping their toys clean goes a long way in keeping them healthy since a lot of grime that could cause illnesses would have been washed off.

The most common way is to wash the plush toys with mild detergent and water. This can be done manually or with a washing machine. However, be sure to follow the instructions on the label in order to do this right. Plush toys have been around and they will remain the same way for many years to come as they are probably the best gifts ever invented!!

There are also many choices for fictional creatures such as dragons and unicorns. Who doesn’t love a cute teddy bear or kitten plushie? They all come in different shapes and sizes. While you may be tempted to buy a jumbo sized toy as a gift, you need to make sure the recipient will have room for it.
